General Information

  • Youth Cattle Working Contest Rules and Guidelines
    • Rule Clarification on page 2:
      • The weights on the cattle will have to be estimated prior to calculating the proper dosage. There will be a 1 point deduction per 100 lbs if the improper weight is estimated. The proper weight will be given prior to actual administration of product.
  • Registration is $20 per team.
  • Entry deadline is  for all regional contests is March 15th!

  • March 25, 2017 - New River Valley Regional Cattle Working Contest, G & G Livestock - Fort Chiswell
  • March 31, 2017 - Southern Piedmont Regional Cattle Working Contest, Southern Piedmont AREC, Blackstone - Limited to first 15 teams enrolled
  • April 1, 2017 - Southwest Virginia Regional Cattle Working Contest, Copenhaver Farm, Meadowview - Limited to first 15 teams enrolled
  • April 5, 2017 - Central Virginia Regional Cattle Working Contest, Tucker Livestock Market, Radiant - Limited to first 15 teams enrolled
  • April 6, 2017 - Shenandoah Valley Regional Cattle Working Contest, Waynesboro Nursery, Waynesboro - Limited to first 15 teams enrolled

The Virginia 4-H Foundation is spearheading the advancement of the Virginia 4-H Youth Livestock Programs Endowment. 4-H livestock programming is funded through a combination of private gifts, endowment income, gifts in kind, and participant fees.
