3.     How will the intern learn about the breadth of VCE and our various program areas?

From the plan outlined you can see the intern will be exposed to a wide variety of curriculum, programming, and special events that are housed at the Chesterfield Cooperative Extension Office.  Specifically, two areas that the intern will be plugged into are a joint effort that involves every VCE discipline:  the Farmer’s Market and the Chesterfield County Fair.  Not only will the chosen intern develop experiences with individual agriculture, horticulture, youth development, and family science programming but they will also be involved in these interdisciplinary events which showcase all that VCE has to offer as an organization.  Many of the marketing opportunities throughout the summer at different events are also collaborative efforts by the Chesterfield Extension office, which will give the intern a chance to promote and discuss everything that VCE has to offer to the community.
