It’s that time of year for so many of us, the summer has wound down, for some it’s back to school, for others it’s time to teach. And for many of us here in VCE, we never stopped. And while summer flew by, I do hope you hit the pause button to take a breath every now and then. 

Spring and summer are a busy time in VCE – and so is fall. We might slow down in the winter…So I want to remind everyone to hit a pause button every now and then. Take time during the day to pause and reflect. 

 Take a day off when you can to recharge doing something you love…to find that inner inspiration. That may still involve plants, animals, or even youth. Perhaps it’s a day in nature - and yes, a beach or fishing still count. 

For me, it could involve a walk, play with my fur babies, or strum a song on the guitar. Spending time with family is always high on my list. There’s not a right way to do this, and certainly no wrong way. The only thing is that you need to make it happen. So, what works for you? 

I know everyone works hard. I’m making sure to ask you to hit the pause button and recharge as needed. And that starts with me.
