During the annual National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences conference in 2023, Virginia Cooperative Extension personnel received first and second place national and southern region awards.  

National Award Winners:

  • 1st Place, Crystal Tyler-Mackey, community viability specialist and the Balancing Life Team, Communications Television/Video Award for the “Balancing Life” weekly webinar series
  • 2nd Place, Karen Poff, senior Extension agent, family and consumer sciences, Warren County, and the Money Management Team, Communications Radio/Podcast Award for the “Money Management Tips to Get Out of Debt” podcast

 

Southern Region Winners:

Congratulations also goes to Glenn Sturm, an Extension agent, family and consumer sciences, in Gloucester County, who received a Distinguished Service Award; and to Kim Edmunds, associate Extension agent, family and consumer sciences, in Henrico County, who received a Continued Excellence Award.
