Virginia 4-H Equity and Inclusion Ambassadors

Virginia 4-H is thrilled to introduce the revamped Virginia 4-H Equity and Inclusion Ambassador program. It is uniting its previous equity and inclusion initiatives, including the Equity and Inclusion Taskforce, Teen Summit Leadership Team, Space 4 You Project Team, True Leaders in Equity Institute Team, Inclusive Language Project Team, and other related projects. This unification delivers the newly branded 4-H Equity and Inclusion Ambassador Program, designed to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion for all within the 4-H program. Equity and inclusion ambassadors were selected based on an application and interview process. These ambassadors will operate in various capacities, organized into three teams: 

1. Programming (Teen Summit Leadership Team): Engage in impactful programming initiatives that resonate with the community, fostering leadership and inclusivity. 
2. Education: Develop materials and programs aimed at enhancing equity and inclusion throughout Virginia, providing educational resources for all. 
3. Policy/Advocacy: Contribute to policy suggestions and advocates for changes within Virginia 4-H, ensuring a more inclusive environment for all 4-H'ers. Focus on creating awareness and understanding around advocacy for inclusion and equity topics, fostering a community dedicated to these principles. 

The 2024 Teen Summit will be held March 8-10 at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational and Conference Center. We hope you will engage with the 4-H Equity and Inclusion Ambassadors and the great work they will be doing across Virginia. Let us embark on this journey together, creating a more inclusive and welcoming 4-H community!
