VCE Historical Timeline
This timeline was created in Spring 2021 through support by an ICTAS Diversity Grant to Dr. Karen Vines to create a cross-institutional Introduction to Cooperative Extension course between Virginia’s 1862 and 1890 land grant universities, Virginia Tech and Virginia State University. This timeline for VCE was created to be an inclusive tool that students can use to visualize the contributions of the 1862 and 1890 Land Grant universities within a historical context. The timeline was primarily organized by a team of undergraduate and graduate students at Virginia Tech. Jacob Hodges and Jama Coartney led the team, with assistance from Nicole Nunoo and Maggie Daly. 2021 VCE Intern, Laura Dainton worked to improve the timeline and provide the ADA compliant version.
