Stephanie C. Diehl
Stephanie Diehl is the Family Nutrition Program Area Coordinator for the Northern District of Virginia Cooperative Extension, located in the district office in Harrisonburg. Stephanie grew up on a dairy farm in Rockingham County where her father served as an Agricultural Extension Agent for more than 25 years, making Stephanie a second-generation Extension employee.
Stephanie received her bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech in 1988 in Housing, Interior Design, and Resource Management and a Master’s degree in Health Sciences from JMU in 1996. Stephanie received her certification as a Registered Dietitian in 1995. After graduation, Stephanie worked across Virginia in various community and clinical positions as a dietitian with a variety of patients spanning the lifecycle, from pregnant mothers and infants, to teens with diabetes and older adults. Eventually, she returned home and started working for Virginia Cooperative Extension in 2001 as a Food, Nutrition, and Health Extension Agent covering a five county area. In 2011, Stephanie moved into her current position with VCE’s Family Nutrition Program as Area Coordinator.
Throughout her career, Stephanie has had the opportunity to practice nutrition throughout the lifecycle and feels that Extension has given her the chance to pull all this knowledge together. Something is always happening and there is never time to get bored!
