Foodborne bacteria…they can spread throughout the kitchen, cutting boards, utensils, countertops, and food. If they are consumed, they can cause foodborne illness.
In the following videos, Chef Heather Petty will demonstrate how to use some basic food safety tips and knife skills to keep food safe during preparation.
These videos were part of a joint project effort with the Departments of Food Science and Technology and Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise. It was funded, in part, with an integrated, internal competitive grant from the Virginia Agricultural Experiment Station, Virginia Cooperative Extension, and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Virginia Tech.
