Summer Internship Program: Summer Internship Evaluation
Primary Program Area Focus: Internship Prorgam Reporting
1. Describe your plans for this internship. (i.e. What specifically will the intern be doing?)
The intern will be work with the VCE Internship Director to provide leadership and coaching for participants in the VCE Summber Internship Program . The Intern will conduct orientations for interns and host, a mid-summer check-in, and a project celebration at the end of the summer. The Intern will attend some programming being conducted by interns to observe, learn, and collect information. The intern will also assist with other internship program-related activities as needed under the direction of the VCE Internship Program director. Deliverables for the internship will include a findings report, scholarly articles/presentations, and best practices guides to support future internship supervisors and interns.
2. Describe the knowledge / skills you expect the intern to gain from this experience.
The intern will work closely with VCE leadership, and VT Library special collections to gain knowledge/skills in: analyzing data and make recommendations for program growth and improvement. The intern will gain skills in communication, leadership, and project management by conducting the orientation, midsummer check in, and end of summer conclusion meeting. The intern will gain leadership skills, communication skills, collaboration skills, research and analytical skills, and adaptability skills.

3. How will the intern learn about the breadth of VCE and our various program areas?
This internship will provide the intern with knowledge about VCE through the state level and also county level, providing a more holistic understanding of the internship program. The intern may travel into different county offices to gain greater understanding of what makes an exceptional experiential learning - internship experience across VCE programs and program areas.
