COVID-19  RELATED CHANGES TO STATE SHOW

The 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19. A virtual awards ceremony was held in its place for non-riding contests and awards. See the Results tab for more information.

2020 Important items outlined below:

  • 2020 Show Schedule is HERE
  • Move in day TBD. There will be no early arrival.
  • Entry fees will remain the same
  • Seniors may still bring two horses
  • No walk/trot classes, Cloverbud Camp, Western Dressage, District Challenge, Silent Auction, Skills Level 3 & 4 tests, and tentatively no Evening Event with awards
  • No Trail and Jumper pre qualifying for 2020. Jumpers will not be held with less than 10 entries
  • If VHC regulations are still in place – clubs will need to submit an RSVP list with entries listing the names of those who will be attending the show with the youth. This will include any and all family members. Those that arrive at the show and are not on the list, will have to be approved through me and VHC management.

2020 Ranch and Drill Information:

  • The Ranch Horse and Drill Team Show have been removed from the State Fair for 2020 only and added to the 2020 Virginia 4-H Horse and Pony Championships schedule. The Ranch and Drill Show will be treated as separate events from the 2020 Virginia 4-H Horse and Pony Championships. Entry fees are in the Google Drive folder. The following will apply:
  • Qualifying will remain the same at the 2020 Virginia 4-H Horse and Pony Championships as it was previously announced this year.
  • There will be separate entry fees for both the Drill Team and Ranch Horse Show
  • Drill Team Entry fees will be: $20/class + $50 for a stall (stalls must be purchased)
  • Ranch Horse entry fee will be: $150. This includes all classes and a stall.
  • Since the Drill and Ranch Horse events are being treated as separate shows, youth will be allowed to bring different horses for each.
  • Juniors and Seniors may bring 1 horse for the ranch or drill show and another horse for the Virginia 4-H Horse and Pony Championships. Juniors and Seniors may also bring and use the same horse for the Ranch and Drill events and also enter that horse into the Virginia 4-H Horse and Pony Championships. Separate entry fees will apply
