May 1 Declaration Deadline of Project Animal

  • Link to ONLINE Declaration Form (available until 11:59pm, May 1)
  • Paper Copy of Declaration Form due to your Extension agent in your County also due on May 1 or at the time your Extension agent requires before that date.
  • DECLARATIONS ARE NOT CONSIDERED COMPLETE until you receive a confirmation email!!
  • Remember all youth must submit a paper form to their county office AND declare online by MAY 1!! Absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS! DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO DO THIS!!

  • IT IS EACH INDIVIDUALS RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT ALL INFORMATION ON THE VERIFICATION LIST IS CORRECT – SPELLING AND OTHERWISE AS THIS INFO IS WHAT IS DOWNLOADED INTO THE STATE SHOW PROGRAM!
  • 2017 Declaration List - All information must be confirmed and corrected by June 19, 2017!
    • This list is a summary version of what was submitted online. Only exhibitor name and horse’s declared are listed.
    • Youth are listed in semi-alphabetical order by last name by county.
    • Please make sure you check your ENTIRE county listing before you call our office to verify that your information was submitted.
    • If your youth’s name is highlighted in RED, the county office will need to call our office to verify information. 540-231-6345
    • If your youth’s name is highlighted in YELLOW, the parent/guardian will need to call our office to verify information. 540-231-6345
    • Please note that some youth are highlighted in Blue – this just means that due to age (10 yrs. of age), they will be eligible for the State Fair Show at the Meadow Event Park on October 3rd but not the State Show in Lexington, September 15-18, 2016.

  • 2017 Show and Clinic Qualified List of Riders and their Project Animal - This list is compiled from information sent from the show and clinic managers. If a youth's name does not appear on this list - please contact the show or clinic manager as the state office has posted all received information! Please allow at least 2 weeks after a qualifying event for the information to be posted!

Connie Collier Scholarship Information

The Connie Collier 4-H Scholarship Award will provide monies to Virginia 4-H Horse Program participants who have met the 4-H horse program requirements and pursue post-secondary education before the age of twenty-five. Applicants must be enrolled in 4-H at the Senior Level (14 – 19) and must be enrolled in their second year of the 4-H Horse Program. Recipients shall be chosen by the Virginia 4-H Horse Program Scholarship Fund Committee through a competitive process based on the information requested in the application guidelines. Top candidates may be invited to interview as deemed necessary by the awards committee.

4-H Certified Horse Measurer

  • Measurers on this list have completed a USEF led measuring class and are approved for measuring 4-H project horses. Each district now has an official dual bubble USEF measuring stick for loan throughout the district.
