Youth Cattle Working Contest Rules 

The top two teams from each of the Regional Contests will advance to the State Youth Cattle Working Contests

 

Contest Entry

  • Deadline: Wednesday, March 18th, 2026 at 5:00 PM
  • Entry Link: https://tinyurl.com/2026-VA-YCWC-Entry
  • Entry Fee - $50.00/team
    •     Payment is expected for all teams entered. All Payments need to be made payable to: Treasurer of Virginia Tech.    

Regional Contests will have a 15 Team Maximum Entry Limit

Each Chapter/Unit is allowed a maximum of 3 Teams with a 2 team/contest location limit.

Eligibility

  • All participants must be 14 years of age by September 30, 2026, and have not had their 19th birthday by January 1, 2026.
  • All participants must have a valid BQA Certification completed by March 20th, 2026

 Chapters must be chartered and have a submitted roster to the State FFA Program to be considered eligible.

The Virginia 4-H Foundation is spearheading the advancement of the Virginia 4-H Youth Livestock Programs Endowment. 4-H livestock programming is funded through a combination of private gifts, endowment income, gifts in kind, and participant fees.
